Job Description

The main focus of this position is to supervise and run sound and possibly video aspects of the Unity of the Triangle Sunday morning church services. These services are currently held at 9am and 11am with a music /sound check starting at 8am each Sunday morning.

In addition, the Sound Tech Manager would insure that we have appropriate sound and recording for online publishing including live feeds and podcasts.

The Sound Tech Manager would supervise, schedule, help recruit, train and inspire a staff of paid professionals and volunteers, as needed, to create a successful sound product.

The Sound Tech Manager will maintain and organize sound equipment and communicate repair needs efficiently and expediently.

The Sound Tech Manager will work closely with the Music Director to support the music vision and communicate with the ministers about the spoken word sound reinforcement during services.

In addition, the Sound Tech Manager, or his trusted agent, will be available for wedding and special event consultations and will provide sound and video staff for these special events.

A positive “can do” attitude is an important aspect of this position, as well as a high tolerance for requests from congregants with little or no knowledge of sound ….this translates to a good sense of humor.

Staff meetings are generally at 1pm on Wednesdays, and although the Sound Tech Manager is not required to attend, a drop in every now and then is encouraged to continue good staff rapport.

The staff dynamic at Unity of the Triangle is one of trust and self-motivation.  Once you’re on board, we will support your vision as you support ours!

Salary is competitive based on experience.

The Sound Tech Manager will generally answer to the Music Director and ultimately to the Ministers.

Unity of the Triangle is a positive path for spiritual living and respects all faiths and diversity.
