Mindfulness-meditation teacher and author Andrew Weiss offers this class for all who wish to establish or nourish meditation as a part of their daily lives.  Using his critically-acclaimed book “Beginning Mindfulness” as the basis, Andrew guides us in how to make the meditative state consistent and grounded in our everyday activities. By learning how to nourish our love and compassion by cultivating honest and clear self-awareness, we unwrap ourselves to the true reality of each moment and open the door to Divine Awareness.  This class is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators.

Paying attention to the messages from the unconscious through dreams can be a powerful spiritual practice and has been a part of Unity from the beginning.  Charles Fillmore placed a great value on understanding the symbolic language of dreams.  In fact, in the early days, people would call Silent Unity for dream interpretation.  Let’s recapture this lost spiritual practice in this interactive workshop. What is The Work of Byron Katie?

The Work is a process that clears the mind. It is a way to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the suffering and violence in the world. The Work is simply four questions and a turnaround, which is a way of experiencing the opposite of what you believe. Anyone with an open mind can do it. This process is simple, radical, and can be life-changing. When you Work with a thought, you see around it to the choices beyond suffering.

On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 pm, we’ll present an example of doing the Work and then each individual will complete a Judge Your Neighbor worksheet and be facilitated in going through the four questions and turnarounds. There will be time for questions and sharing.

Byron Katie has one job: to teach people how to stop suffering. In 1986, at the bottom of a ten-year fall into depression, anger, and addiction, Katie woke up one morning and realized that all suffering comes from believing our thoughts. Questioning every painful thought she had, she developed an amazing method of inquiry she called The Work. Katie has been bringing The Work to millions around the world for more than twenty years.  Her free public events, weekend workshops, and nine-day School for the Work bring liberation to people everywhere. She has written four bestselling books. For more information, visit her website.
