UNITY CHURCH OF THE TRIANGLE ANNOUNCES INTERFAITH SERVICE: “HEALING THE WATERS”

RALEIGH, NC:  Unity Church of the Triangle (UCT) is offering a special one-hour service on September 9, 2010 at 7 p.m. for people of all faiths to join together in prayer and meditation with a focus on healing and solutions for the ecological disaster currently happening in the Gulf Region.  This simple but meaningful service will be hosted by UCT ministers, Rev. Neusom Holmes and Rev. Jennifer Holder.  Candlelight and inspirational music will complement brief prayers and meditations led by a panel of spiritual leaders from different faiths across the Triangle community.  The service will conclude with a blessing of the oil-polluted waters in the Gulf.  UCT hopes this event will encourage people of all faiths to unite as a community and send positive energy through thought and prayer to heal the devastation of water, plants and animals in the Gulf Region. “The Gulf Oil disaster is indeed a time for action on the part of the government, corporations, nonprofits and volunteers.” But it also begs for a religious response of prayer, meditation, and contemplation.  Attendees can enjoy fellowship, discussion, and refreshments in 1880 Hall immediately following the service.
