Revised May 2020

Your privacy is important to us, and it is our policy to respect it. This page explains our privacy policy and the terms and conditions that apply to the use of our website. Please read these provisions carefully, as they create a legal agreement. Your use of our website constitutes your acceptance of our privacy policy and the terms and conditions stated below. If you do not agree to the policy or these terms and conditions, you do not have permission to use the website.

Overview

This privacy policy applies to https://unitytriangle.org/ (hereinafter, “our website,” “site,” “us,” “we,” or “Unity of the Triangle”). We have adopted this privacy policy to explain what information may be collected on our website, how we use the information, and under what circumstances we may disclose the information to third parties. This privacy policy applies only to information we collect through our website and does not apply to our collection of information from other sources. Depending on your activities when visiting our website, you may be required to agree to additional terms and conditions.

Types of information collected

Our website collects different types of information from and about you, either directly from you when you provide it to us, or automatically as you navigate through the site.

  • Like most website operators, Unity of the Triangle collects non-personally identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use our website. From time to time, we may release non-personally identifying information in the aggregate—for example, by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our website. Non-personally identifying information is owned exclusively by Unity of the Triangle and may be used as we see fit in accordance with the law.
  •  Our site uses cookies and web log files to track site usage. A cookie is a tiny data file that resides on your computer that allows us to recognize you when you return to the site using the same computer and web browser. Cookie and log file data is used to customize your experience on the site. If you do not want information to be collected through the use of cookies, your browser allows you to deny or accept the use of cookies. You can choose to disable cookies or allow your browser to notify you when a cookie is being sent, but this may prevent you from using certain features of the site.
  • In using the website, you may provide, and we may collect, personally identifying information such as your name, postal and email addresses, and telephone numbers. The amount and type of information we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. If you email us, post messages, complete online forms, or provide other information in your interactions with us, we may collect the information you provide. Certain information may not identify you when standing alone but may become identifying when combined with other information. Whether you provide this information is up to you, but in many instances this kind of information is necessary for you to take advantage of a benefit we are offering or access certain content on our website.

Protecting the security of your information

User information maintained in our system is protected using industry standard security measures. But please remember, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security, and you should take reasonable security measures to protect your information. Your information may be accessed and viewed by other Internet users without your knowledge or permission while in transit to or from us. We cannot and do not ensure the security of any information you transmit to us online and are not responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of your personally identifying information. If we learn that your personally identifying information has been compromised, we may, in our sole discretion, notify you by email to your last known email address. Please be aware, however, that there may be delays in notification while we attempt to determine the scope of the breach, restore reasonable integrity to the system, and cooperate with law enforcement in any criminal investigation. From time to time we evaluate new technology for protecting information and, when appropriate, we upgrade our information security systems.

Third party sites

Our website contains links to external sites that we do not operate or control, and these sites may have information practices and privacy policies that differ from ours. Please exercise caution and consult the privacy policies of any third party website you visit, as we have no control and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites, and such sites are not governed by this privacy policy.

Financial information

Financial transactions conducted through our website are administered by a third party, Breeze, and are subject to the Breeze privacy policy. We do not store financial information in our database.

Some of those employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations may be located outside your home country; by using our website, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. We will not rent or sell personally identifying information to anyone. Except as described above, Unity of the Triangle discloses personally identifying information only if required to do so by law in connection with copyright and other intellectual property infringement claims, or if we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) fulfill a government request; (ii) comply with the law or legal process; (iii) protect the property or rights of Unity of the Triangle, third parties, or the public; or (iv) in an emergency to protect the health and safety of our users and the public.

We may use non-personally identifying information in a variety of ways—for example, to administer the site, help us analyze site traffic, understand needs and trends among site users, carry out promotional activities, gather demographic information, and improve our site. We may use your non-personally identifying information by itself or by aggregating it with information we have obtained from others.

Personal information provided as part of user content

If you include personally identifying information when you post on our site, blog, or social media, that information may be available to others. If you do not want to share the information, please remove it before posting your content. Unity of the Triangle is not liable and assumes no responsibility for any damages caused or incurred by your sharing information in these ways.

If you use our website and have supplied your email address, Unity of the Triangle may email you to tell you about online and in-person events, offerings, and activities, solicit your feedback, and generally keep you up to date with what’s going on at Unity of the Triangle. We may at times send you emails relating to third party events and offerings, but this does not mean that we have shared your personal information with a third party. If you send us a request by email or through one of our feedback mechanisms, we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users.

Children’s privacy

Our website is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. By using the site, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, any information we receive from users we believe to be under the age of 13 will be purged from our database.

Correcting, accessing, or removing personal information

Whether to provide us with your personally identifying information is completely up to you. You are not obligated to answer any question presented on or through our site. If you have provided personal information and want to update or correct it, or if you no longer want to receive communications from us, we will try to accommodate you if you email us at info@unitytriangle.org. Please keep in mind that in many instances, personally identifying information is required if you want to participate in activities or receive benefits we may offer or gain access to certain content or offerings on our site. Also, please note that there may be circumstances in which we are unable to completely remove your information from our systems. For example, we may retain your information to prevent fraud or future abuse, for account recovery purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as that information is retained in our data backup systems or cached or archived pages. All retained personally identifying information will continue to be subject to the terms of this privacy policy.
