Spiritual Support

Trained prayer chaplains provide one-on-one prayer after Sunday services and when requested. Request prayer 24/7 by calling the prayer request line, (919) 832-8324, Ext 8 to leave a confidential message. You will receive a call from a prayer chaplain within 24 hours.

You may also fill out a prayer request online or at the prayer box table in the lobby. These requests receive prayers from the chaplains on Sundays, from members of the Sacred Prayer Circle during their daily prayers that week, and from volunteers at Silent Unity for a month.

Extended Emotional Care

Our Extended Care Team is made up of former prayer chaplains who have been specially trained to provide compassionate listening and emotional support to congregants who are in the hospital or convalescing at home. These volunteers hold individuals in prayer and may continue supporting them through lengthy illness and the end of life. They are not spiritual counselors or caretakers. If you are in need, please send a confidential care request form to our Pastoral Care Minister, Rev. Meemie Lohmueller, or call her at (919) 832-8324, Ext. 110.

Health Challenge

Let us know if you are in the hospital or have an extended illness so we can visit and support you. Our Friends in Deed volunteers may be able to provide transportation to and from doctor’s appointments and treatments. They also provide meals on a short-term basis while you recover from an illness or hospital stay. If you need help, please send a confidential care request form to our Pastoral Care Minister, Rev. Meemie Lohmueller, or call her at (919) 832-8324, Ext. 110.

Unity

“A few years ago I had emergency surgery. While I was in the hospital, members of the Extended Care Team sat by my bedside, prayed with me, then picked me up and drove me home the following day. I will always be grateful for their support and kindness.”
