Message from Neusom

For nearly 25 years I have loved this community. Unity of the Triangle is unusual in its ability to both welcome new people and deepen in its own sense of spirit and awakening. It is my heart’s desire that we will be able to continue being this incredible community in a home we own.

To secure our future we are intending to raise $1.2 million in three years to pay off the mortgage and build reserves for future maintenance. This is an ambitious goal.  After years of waiting we are doing this now because the markets are up and so is uncertainty. Covid taught us that anything can happen. Currently we have a low interest loan with a balloon payment due in 5 years. Each year we spend $85,000 on the mortgage that could be used for growth, expanding our outreach and education. If we own our building, it will be us, not the bank that says where we will spend the money.

Ten years ago we created a building with a beautiful sanctuary, classrooms, fellowship hall and offices. This building became our home. Many people gave great love, effort and money to make our intentions a reality. By investing in our home now we will secure our future for ourselves and those who will come after. Each gift is a gift to ourselves. Each gift is also a legacy. Join all of us in Securing our Future.

Blessings,

Neusom

Other Ways To Give

Cash & Property Gifts

Write a check to Unity of the Triangle with “Secure Our Future Fund” written in the memo line. Deliver to the Church Office. The church also accepts donations of real and personal property — houses, land, cars, boats, etc. Consult your financial advisor or attorney for tax advice and information regarding your specific situation.

Stocks & Securities

Gifts of appreciated stocks and securities are a great way to support the church, potentially reduce tax liability, and receive a deduction for the fair market value of your gift at the time of transfer. Financial Security gifts to Unity can be made from a brokerage account, a traditional retirement account (IRA, 401K, etc.) or a Roth IRA. These gifts are transferred directly from your financial institution to Unity. For help with a securities transfer, contact David Kramer or Bill Holt.

Legacy Gifts

You may wish to leave a legacy by including Unity in your estate plan—for example, by making a bequest in your will or by designating Unity of the Triangle as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, insurance policy, or donor-directed charitable trust. Please contact the office at (919) 832-8324 with any questions, and do let us know if you have included Unity in your estate plan.

2026 Secure Our Future FAQs

Secure Our Future is a dedicated fundraiser with two goals: 1) to retire the remaining mortgage balance before our balloon payment comes due, 2) strengthen Unity of the Triangle’s financial future by assigning money to the Building Reserve Fund. By reducing debt obligations, we create more opportunities.

Our goal is to raise $1.2 million over the next 3 years, specifically designated for mortgage retirement and increasing the building reserve through the Secure Our Future Fund.
