She completed her nursing training while doing private duty with people over 70. In 2013\, she became a hearing officer at DHHS in the medical assistance field. Her career has included providing home health services\, handling financial and medical estates\, assisting in end-of-life choices\, helping navigate health care to age-in-place with support services in order to maintain independence and safety. Alison is a member of Unity of the Triangle. \nWhat is Geriatric Nursing?\nGeriatric nursing is a specialized field focused on improving the health\, quality of life\, and independence of older adults\, typically people aged 65 and older. These nurses\, often called gerontological nurses\, address complex physical\, mental\, and emotional needs\, managing chronic conditions like dementia\, diabetes\, and heart disease. They work in settings such as hospitals\, homes\, and nursing homes to support aging in place. \nA Welcoming Senior Wellness Experience at Unity of the Triangle\nUnity of the Triangle is proud to offer senior wellness programs in Raleigh that support aging well\, independence\, and lifelong learning. The Aging with Wisdom series creates a welcoming space for older adults seeking connection\, clarity\, and confidence. \nThe series is presented by Silver Circle\, a Unity of the Triangle small group that embraces aging with vitality\, vigor\, curiosity\, and learning. They regularly meet on the second Tuesdays of the month in the multi-purpose room at the church. All are welcome.

Tami Johns & The Unity Band\n\nThere are many differences in our world today that can create division\, and it’s easy to fall into the habit of judging others based on those differences. When we choose to connect with the Divine within ourselves\, recognize it in others\, and act with understanding\, kindness\, and love\, we begin to create unity in a divided world. True unity is not about being the same\, but about honoring that each person expresses the same sacred presence in their own unique way. DESCRIPTION:What is Reiki Healing?\nReiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low\, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress\, and if it is high\, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. \nThe word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.” \nSunday Reiki Sessions for Congregants!\nAre you feeling out of balance or stressed? To support the spiritual growth of our congregation\, we are excited to offer Reiki energy healing to our community. Unity of the Triangle is blessed to have many Reiki healers in our congregation. They will be offering 15-minute Reiki Healing chair sessions once a month for the congregation on the third Sunday of every month in the Meditation Room upstairs. Sign up is required and will be available day-of at the Welcome Desk in the lobby before Sunday service. These sessions will be popular!
