CELEBRATE WORLD DAY OF PRAYER AT UNITY OF THE TRIANGLE

2025 Theme: Be Still And Know.

Every year Unity churches all over the world come together for 24 hours to pray and lift up the world in an event called World Day of Prayer.  Imagine a map of the world dotted with lights from every Unity church worldwide.  We know the power of collective prayer is powerful and makes a difference! This year’s reimagined opening ceremony is a candlelight service led by Rev. Neusom Holmes, Rev. Meemie Lohmueller, Rev. Michael Gadway, the Unity Prayer Chaplains, and the Unity Choir featuring soloist Deborah Mack.

Opening Ceremony

7:00-8:00 pm. 

In-person and livestream 

The 24-Hour Silent Prayer & Meditation Vigil will begin at 8:00 pm at the end of the opening ceremony with the ringing of the bell and will last until Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 8:00 pm. Our goal is to have someone in prayer, at home or in the sanctuary, for each of the 24 hours including the sleeping hours. 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24-HOUR SILENT PRAYER & MEDITATION VIGIL

The world needs our light and our prayers! Whether you come to the opening ceremony creating a collective sacred space, sign up for a one-hour prayer time slot, add names to receive prayer, or join any part of the livestream during the 24-hour vigil, you will be adding your heart and Spirit to lift the world.

SIGN UP FOR 1-HOUR OF PRAYER

You can now sign up for a one-hour of prayer during the 24-hour Silent Prayer Vigil. You may choose which hour you will participate in, whether in our sanctuary or at home. We need you to help us reach our goal of having at least one to two people in prayer, at home or in the sanctuary, for each of the 24 hours including the sleeping hours. There is no limit to how many people can sign up for each slot.  We need at least 48 people!

Last day to register for In-person and Online participation is Sunday, September 7. Once you have signed up for your one-hour prayer appointment, either from home or in the sanctuary. If you’re participating virtually, we’ll email a link to the 1-hr online meditation once you register.  Please don’t be intimidated if you’ve never done this before! You’ll be totally supported. 

TO ENGAGE IN THE CEREMONY FROM HOME

We suggest that you have a candle ready to light at the same time we light the Prayer Vigil Candle in the sanctuary at the beginning of the Opening Ceremony at 7pm on September 10.

To submit names to hold in prayer, fill out a Prayer Request form in the church lobby at the Welcome Desk. Submit as many names as you wish—FIRST NAMES ONLY—between August 17th and September 7th. Join us in lighting up the world in prayer and meditation!
