Unity’s vibrant Youth Ministry, celebrates every young person as a unique, creative expression of the divine.

Led with enthusiasm and a lifelong Unity education by Youth Education Director Tia Redman. Tia was raised in Unity and graduated from the Y.O.U program in 2016.  After moving to Raleigh and becoming a parent, she wanted to go back to her roots in Unity. She is excited to lead the Youth Ministry with heart, creativity, inclusion and curiosity.

Sunday Mornings

  • 11 am service

During the 11 am service, children and teens gather in their respective meeting rooms for Unity lessons that include prayer and meditation as ways to discover and connect with the Divine. The teens take an active role in designing their classes; Y.O.U. (high school) classes are completely youth-led.

  • Signing in

All classrooms have sign-in sheets. Uniteens and Y.O.U. sign themselves in. To sign up a new student, please click here.

Parents should sign in their pre-teen children and note any special considerations such as allergies, dietary restrictions, or ADA accommodations needed. If you have questions or would like a tour of our facilities, feel free to ask a youth volunteer or contact our Youth and Family Ministry Director.

youth class

Unikids / Elementary

The Unikids meet in two groups in the Youth Wing upstairs: K-2 in Room 213, and grades 3-5 in Room 214. Children in these classes explore Unity principles through lessons, stories, songs, and creative projects.

Uniteens / Middle School

Our Uniteens meet in Room 209 in the Youth Wing upstairs. This thoughtful and lively group participates in Unity-based lessons and activities that encourage them to explore, express, and become comfortable with their own spirituality and to extend that same encouragement to others.

Unity Triangle Y.O.U. / High School:

Y.O.U. / High School

Our fabulous Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity) is a unique and inspiring group of young spiritual leaders and seekers. They develop and facilitate their own curriculum in a program that allows them to safely question and explore their inner and outer worlds as they develop a personal relationship with the Divine. The group meets in Room 210 upstairs.

Retreats and Rallies

Several times each year, our Y.O.U. and Uniteens are invited to join with other Unity teens from across the Southeast at spiritual retreats and rallies. In preparation, they coordinate fundraisers throughout the year. The cost of retreats, including travel, is paid by a combination of funds raised, family contributions, and support from Unity of the Triangle. These gatherings are highly anticipated and can be life-changing. Notices of future rallies and retreats will be posted on the bulletin board in the Youth Wing and in the church calendar, or you can send us an email for more details.

Unity

“A retreat transformed my spiritual experience of Unity. It’s a safe space for people to be themselves—something you don’t see in school. It’s where I learned to embrace the differences between people and also recognize that we’re all one being. To see all these exceptional people come together, people who choose to love and coexist rather than focus on differences, is surreal. You never want to leave. And you don’t want to take a moment while you’re there for granted.”

Gabe López, regional Y.O.U. leader, Unity of the Triangle
