How are Unity SpiritGroups different from the small groups we already have?
Unity SpiritGroups are curriculum-based, six-week study groups digging deeper into Unity’s spiritual principles. Each week has a specific topic and related study materials. Group sessions include a video on that week’s topic, lively, guided discussion, and sharing life experiences. The groups are limited to 6-8 people to encourage true connection and manageable discussion. Study sessions are once a week lasting 90-minutes.
The Unity SpiritGroups curriculum, videos and participant materials were developed by Unity Worldwide Ministries.
What’s the study topic?
The Fall 2025 Cohort will study Unity’s Five Basic Principles.
Do I have to read a book?
No, but you can! The classes will be based on the book The Five Principles: A Guide to Practical Spirituality” by Ellen Debenport. Available in the bookstore or on Amazon.
Are Unity SpiritGroups for me?
Yes! Unity SpiritGroups are for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of how Unity’s five core principles can be used for personal growth and spiritual development in their daily lives. We especially invite people who are new to Unity! This is a beautiful way to meet new people, make new friends, and develop those soul connections created by being in a small group.
Who are the Fall Cohort group leaders?
Tia Redman, Liz Steele, and Dona McNeill will be our Fall Cohort group facilitators. The facilitators are trained by Rev. Tami Johns, Liz Steele and Sandi Fitts. We’re grateful to Liz and Sandi, who have participated in Unity SpiritGroups at other Unity churches, and brought their passion for the program to the leadership team.
