June 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Unity for Humanity social justice group in Raleigh at Unity of the Triangle

UNITY FOR HUMANITY: A SPIRITUAL SOCIAL JUSTICE GROUP IN RALEIGH

Created to engage our Raleigh community in meaningful dialogue, compassionate action, and consciousness-raising around issues that affect our shared humanity, Unity for Humanity is a spiritual social justice group at Unity of the Triangle.

Rooted in Unity principles, this group invites thoughtful exploration of social justice issues through education, spiritual practice, and community-centered action. Our first focus area is immigration action from a spiritual and compassionate perspective. Two social action committees have formed from our initial meetings, one focused on voting and one focused on local immigration issues in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill region.

Unity of the Triangle Partners with Siembra NC and Make NC Work

We took the learnings from our first two meetings, where we heard you passionately speak about policy concerns at both the federal and state levels–actions that push up costs for electricity, healthcare, and food, as well as restrict voter rights and threaten immigrant well-being. Our next action is joining the Enough Should Be Enough Listening Tour hosted by Siembra NC & Make NC Work. The listening tour is a grassroots effort that launched in February 2026 to engage some of the 2 million North Carolinians who sat out the last election.

Unity for Humanity June 2026 Meeting: Listening Tour Training Focused on Immigration & Voting

We will host a training for those interested in conducting listening sessions.  During the training, we will form small Listening Tour Teams. Team members will learn how to use the tools provided and will have help coming up with a target group/list of people to converse with. These teams will then go on to connect with people in person and ask prepared questions about their biggest concerns for them and their families. The Listening Tours engage people most impacted by these actions, to learn from them, and make sure their interests are represented at the government level.

Listening Tours Provide Roadmap for the People’s Agenda

The stories and priorities collected from these listening sessions will be compiled with results from Listening Tours around the state, to draft a People’s Agenda, which will be presented at the July “Enough Should Be Enough” statewide assembly. This agenda will be our mandate, forcing 2026 statewide candidates to address at a major town hall in August and proving that North Carolina’s future belongs to us.

From Awareness to Compassionate Action

Unity for Humanity is not only about learning — it is about transformative, values-aligned action all through a spiritual lens. This is a space where awareness becomes action and unity becomes lived experience.

Building Unity in a World Divided

In alignment with Unity of the Triangle’s 2026 theme, “In a World Divided — Choose Unity,” Unity for Humanity focuses on issues that often divide us and creates space for understanding, empathy, and healing connection. We will be surveying the group for future topics.
